Devotional
The Apostle Paul underwent a stunning transformation. In his early life, he was socially respected, economically comfortable, and violently persecuting Christians. By the end of his life, he was abandoned, poor, and imprisoned--awaiting execution for sharing the Gospel. And yet, he knew there was more to the story. He eagerly anticipated the crown of righteousness Jesus would give him on the day of his return.
Christians in the United States today do not generally face such persecution. It is rare for an American Christian to be fired, evicted, disowned, imprisoned, or killed simply for being a Christian or sharing the Gospel.
Are we willing to be persecuted for our faith?
Perhaps a more immediate question is are we willing to be inconvenienced or discomforted for our faith?
Are we willing to yield our time, money, and preferences?
Are we willing to take risks?
