Question:
Answer the questions/do the following, based on the "Testing the Development and Diffusion of E-Government and E-Democracy" reading of this week. On page 446, the authors present two hypotheses derived from the competition model.
Are these hypotheses null or alternative hypotheses?
If null (alternative), specify corresponding alternative (null) hypotheses. The authors present results of two multivariate regression estimations in Table 1 on page 449.
Do the independent variables do a better job explaining e-government or e-democracy? Explain.
Looking at the e-government model, pick one of the independent variables with at least one asterisk next to its coefficient estimate and interpret the variables effect on e-government.
What do you think of the authors'' decision to put a "+" next to the .152 estimate for the NAW variable and interpret the finding as offering partial acceptance (see Table 2, page 450) of the competition model?
Pretend that the e-government dependent variable and the NAW (neighboring countries e-government performance) and international organization participation independent variables were all measured with three values: low, medium, and high.
If you wanted to examine relationships between the variables, explain how you would do it with controlled crosstabulations and appropriate measures of association, and explain what type of visual/graphic display you would use.

What is the energy conversion efficiency of wood to syngas
: A gasifier can convert 1 kg of wood (19.5 MJ/kg) into 1.5 m3 of syngas (5.2 MJ/m3 ). If we define energy conversion efficiency as the ratio of syngas energy to biomass energy, what is the energy conversion efficiency of wood to syngas?
