  There is one thing that I hope you've realized so far: there are 3 realms of existence in this book. Life, the transition area (?), and the afterlife (?). I put the question
  marks, because that's what I'm calling them. Thoughts on this. There's some discussion on pg 147.

Chapter 6: The sixth day

A phrase that kept coming up in this chapter is "resting place." Have you been thinking about the difference between the afterlife portrayed in the novel and what the "resting place" would be like? Thoughts. 
Selling Kidneys: I'm not sure if you've ever heard about this, but it's often talked about in conspiracy theory- like ways, not just in China, but many poor countries like India and Mexico. What are your feelings about this? What's the purpose of having it in this story?

Chapter 7: The seventh day

Shift in pronoun usage for the narrator. Meaning? 

Liu Mei and Wu Chao's story is very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. What is the tragedy of their story?

Liu Mei says she's going to find "true rest" once she's cremated and goes to her burial plot (197). Does this add to any of your thoughts from the previous chapters?
