Learning outcome 3: Evaluate and apply visualisation techniques for data analytics.
Assessment Description
For this assessment, you are required to prepare an investigative report that explores and analyses data visualisation techniques. The assessment is in two parts, A and B. Get expert-level assignment help in any subject.
Part A - Business Report
You are expected to use R software for Part A. You will be provided with a data set and given the business context. Your task is to write a short report that includes:
a statistical summary of the data.
appropriate graphics drawn using R software
an analysis of the data in the business context
Part B - Critique of Graphics
You are asked to find three examples of graphics that have been published within the last three months:
one that you consider good.
one that you consider unintentionally poorly presented,
and one that you consider intentionally biased or misleading.
If you obtain examples from the web, you can either download the image, if possible, or take a screenshot. If you find examples in print, you can photograph the graphics.
Import the three graphics into a Word document, and for each graphic:
Give the title and context of the article in which it appeared
State where it was published, when it was published, and by whom it was published
Explain why you consider it good, or poor, or misleading.
You must conduct research externally and include references in accordance with the Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style. These may include websites, social media sites, industry reports, census data, journal articles, magazine and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a referencing list at the end of your assessment (not included in the word limit).
You are expected to use R software and must submit your *.r file in addition to your Word report. Your report should include:
• a statistical summary of the data,
• appropriate graphics drawn using R software,
• an analysis of the data in the business context.
SoccCo is a company that sells soccer equipment through two stores that began trading in January 2021.
NetCo is a company that sells tennis equipment through a single store that began trading in January 2022.
Both companies are privately owned and own their stores, or store.
Imagine it is January 2026 and you are a data analyst working for a consulting firm. The two companies are considering a merger. You have been hired by SoccCo to: assess whether such a merger makes business sense based on historical sales data; and suggest a post-merger ownership arrangement.
