Analyze the response to the epidemic in terms of effectiveness (consider addressing questions such as how fast was the response, how long did it take to contain it, was the number of people who investigated really necessary, is the situation resolved).

Discuss ways to reduce the incidence of such an outbreak (research how outbreaks of this disease occurred and how to prevent them). Jarod Hill Discussion In the recent years there has been two very scary diseases that broke out. One was called H1N1, and the other was E. coil. I honestly never knew how serious these diseases were when the news broke until the media started giving us the reports of how many people were being affected by these diseases. According to CDC approximately 60 million people became infected with 2009 HINI between April 2009 and March 13, 2010 (CDC, 2009).

As you see these number were through the roof. This was one of the most infectious outbreaks since 1918 flu pandemic. I was not thought of, and never knew about the flu outbreak in 1918. The other disease that broke through was E.coli. Supposedly there was bad package spinach, and other meats in dairy products that was being shipped to local food markets. According to FDA and California the outbreak sickened 199 persons across the United States and caused 3 deaths (FDA, 2006). Both of these diseases spread pretty quickly, and infected a lot of people across the United States.

The disease HINI was supposedly cause from having contact with a pig, and E.coli was spoiled food that came from across the united states in Germany. Describe the many participants that worked on this outbreak (Consider how folks from different disciplines worked together to track, study, and contain the disease when building your response).

Many people worked on tracking these diseases. From doctors, CDC, FDA, and the government. Of course diseases that have sudden breakouts like these require a lot of people to tackle the issue.

According to H1NI1 the CDC reported two cases of swine and influenza A in children in Southern California (Hawley, 2017). Also in 1936 Richard E. Shope first reported antibodies to swine influenza in humans, and shortly thereafter viruses isolated from swine and from humans were linked to the 1918 influenza virus (H1NI, 2017).

As we can see this disease has been around for some time now. People working all in different areas come together to try to get a hold on these instant outbreaks. Outbreaks come in go in the United states it will always work best for all parties to get their knowledge on what will be best on curing these sudden outbreaks that harm people. Many brains always work better than one.

This paper is about swine flu epidemic which started spreading in April 2009. Early cases of swine flu were reported from North America. Post which it spread across the world ,many losing their lives battling it. Swine flu was a combination of the existing H1N1 Influenza A and a flu affecting the pigs. At the time of the outbreak , there were limited supply of medicines and vaccines available , hence CDC recommended to control the spread by asking people to take public health care measures. There have been fewer cases of swine flu affected since then, however that doesn’t reduce the risk of another outbreak in the future. Hence the public health agencies like WHO needs to work together to develop an immunity vaccine against such viruses.
