You are to choose your favorite song and analyze it using the information gathered in MUS103. The song must have at least three of the key elements we have discussed as essential for sound to be considered music. In your analysis please discus the use of keys, times, scales, rhythms, and tempos. Explain how those parts make the song flow or how they make the audience feel. Also address if those parts are used to convey a story or emotion from the artist's point of view. Lastly make sure you explain how the use of keys, times, scales, rhythms, and tempos help progress the song from start to finish. A good question to ask is, why did the composer choose what he or she did?
The paper should be included:

  • 3 pages PLUS a cover and reference page
  • An introductory paragraph to the song you have picked any why
  • Logical flow of topics and points from paragraph to paragraph
  • Proper use of terminology including music term and phrases
  • Proper analysis of the song including keys, times, scales, rhythms, and tempos
  • Proper APA writing style, 3rd person narrative, Page headers, properly cited references
  • NO Wikipedia or ASK.Com
