Question: In the Homeland Security field, one aspect of analysis involves conducting security assessments on behalf of government agencies and private companies.

An important component of a security assessment involves qualitative documentation. This is a simple concept but can be very effective for conveying the extent to which a vulnerability exists for an organization. One form of qualitative documentation is first-hand, photographic documentation.

First, go out into your community and take at least three pictures of a Transportation-related security issue that corresponds with the one of the Chapter 9 areas (highway, railroad, subway, maritime, airport, etc.). If the location has one, provide the name of the place you are writing about. Give the physical location and provide its address. If the address isn't apparent, write directions on how to reach the area you are writing about.
