Global Health Systems
Critical thinking, systems thinking and analysis skills are highly sought after in research and policy development practice. Such technical skills are also recognised as important for effective public health leaders.
This task provides opportunities for you to develop these skills through describing and analysing two different health systems. Though not a required group task, this task allows for further collaboration with others to enrich your research and comparison skills hence enhancing your ability to more comprehensively analyse the systems you focus on.
Title: Health system analysis
The Task: Health system analysis Research Report -Compare and contrast two country health systems (you CANNOT use Australia):
Use the building blocks discussed in lectures to describe and analyse the parts of the system in two countries and identify similarities and differences. Within each building block, you may also wish to identify challenges and include a comparison of the challenges. In your final discussion/conclusion, you may wish to describe how public health (i.e. population health/preventive health)services are provided in the system and any key linkages between building blocks.
Task Details:
Using your group literature summary as a starting point write a 3500word report that compares the health systems of the two countries your group chose. In your report include a brief country profile to provide context for the health system analysis, a description of the components of the health system (using each of the WHO building blocks to help you structure) and a comparison of the systems between your two chosen countries. You may also wish to identify some challenges for each of the components. You MUST also describe how public health services are integrated into the health system for your two countries.
In a small section at the end, provide a short reflection of the process for Assessment 2A and 2B (both literature summary and final report). In your reflection include your individual thoughts on group selection, country selection, challenges of the task, group dynamics and processes and the task of writing your final report. This reflection will be worth 6% of the 50% weighting for Assessment 2B.
Task Description -
For this task, you need to:
1. Use your group literature summary as a starting point to write a report that compares the health systems of the two countries your group chose.
2. Provide a short reflection of the process and key learnings for Assessment 2 (both literature summary 2 and final report 3). In your reflection, include your individual thoughts on group selection, country selection, challenges of the task, group dynamics and processes and the task of writing your final report. Also include a paragraph on a key learning about health systems. Hire Online Assignment help service for completing assignment!
You may continue to work in groups for this project and help each other with research, identify country system similarities and differences together, etc, but you must write your final report individually using your own words.
Your structured report should include
1. An abstract, introduction and discussion and conclusion. The introduction should include a brief country profile to provide context for the health system analysis.
2. The main report body that includes a section on each of the components of the health system (using each of the WHO building blocks to help you structure) and a comparison of the systems between your two chosen countries.
3. A discussion that identifies challenges and discusses how population/preventive health services are integrated into the health systems.
4. A REFLECTION section (2-3 paragraphs) on the assessment process and what you have learnt about health systems from the task.
