Applied Field Methods in Public Health
Assignment
In this task, you are provided the survey dataset of the selected scenario, which is supposed to be collected from your fieldwork, and you are required to conduct data analysis to answer your research questions.
Task 1: Write up data management and analysis
- Please describe the theoretical procedure that you may use to manage the data (i.e. entering data, cleaning, etc.)
- Please provide what are the statistical techniques and tests you use to analyse the data to address the research questions
Task 2: Analyse data and interpret the results
• Descriptive statistics of the study variables
• Inferential statistics to address each research question/objective using the specific statistical tests (e.g. chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, logistic regression)
• Write up the results to interpret the outputs of the data analyses
Task 3:
• Provide some recommendations for prevention and/or control: Base on the results and additional literature reviews (if needed), provide recommendations and/or controls to address the issue
• Provide a planfor disseminating and communicating your findings to relevant stakeholders Get top-notch online assignment help.
• Discuss the possibility of intervention/implementation research following your field study
You are required to write a written report (2000 words). The structure of the report comprises:
- Data Management and Analysis:
. Data cleaning and management
. Descriptive statistics
. Inferential statistics
- Results:
. Descriptive statistic
. Inferential statistics to address the objective(s)
- Recommendations:
. Preventions and controls
. Communication and Dissemination of the project's findings
. Possibility of intervention/implementation research
Scenario: Prevention of overweight and obesity among adolescents in Qatar
Activity 1: Explore the dataset. Please be familiar with the variables of the dataset and plan how to analyse the data to address the research objectives
Activity 2: Calculate and present the descriptive statistics (i.e. %, mean) of the vulnerable factors among cases and controls using tables
Activity 3: Conduct bivariate analyses (e.g. chi-square, t-test, etc.) to compare the frequency/mean of the factors between cases and controls
Activity 4:
o Select the statistically significant factors (p-value<=0.05) from Tables 1-3
o Conduct multivariable logistic regression to examine the effects of these significant factors on overweight/obesity.
