Assessment: Project
Purpose: Demonstrates that students can effectively work in a group to analyse the requirements for planning a cloud migration strategy for a medium to large enterprise. The assessment contributes to the learning outcomes c and d.

Assessment topic: Developing a Cloud Implementation Model for an Organisation
Task details: Choose one type of an industry from the below list and present a business use case for the initial transition
1. Material sector - Discovery development and processing of raw materials
2. Retailing
3. Drugs
4. Technology, Hardware and Equipment
5. Oil and Gas Operations
6. Hotels Restaurants and Leisure
7. Business Services and Supplies Students should form a group of 3 members. Each group should choose a case study, analyse the requirements for the chosen business and prepare a proposal and extended report for the cloud migration. There is no limitation on the size of the report however a minimum of 15 to 20 pages are expected. The group members should have a fair distribution of tasks. The group activity report should document on how members discuss and agree the division of responsibilities and describes how individual efforts of each group member which will be used as evidence of individual contribution. The group activity log should be attached to the appendix of the group report, clearly indicating who was present, issues, actions and agreed timelines. Research is encouraged and rewarded, only when it is clearly identified. Do not copy paste generic information without having appropriate referencing and be sure the information has been written to apply specific to this project. Poor referencing and lack of acknowledgement of the information source will be penalized Refer to Section 3.3 Plagiarism and Referencing. Harvard Referencing is expected and marks will be deducted for poor referencing.

b. Additional details on the concept of operations from the business case
c. Discuss on how the selected Service Model/s can deliver intended set of workflows. You need to discuss this from the perspective of IT resources used in the organisation. The discussion should focus on justifying how the resources from the service model will help the organisation with its business process. A mere discussion on the features/advantages of the service model is not sufficient.
d. Discuss on how the selected Deployment Model/s will meet your business requirements from the integration and legal perspectives. The discussion should focus on how the organization has benefitted by choosing the selected deployment model in terms of the infrastructure requirements and the cost involved.
e. For any service you have chosen from the cloud, present a comparison of the prices from to three cloud providers. Name the providers as Cloud Provider A, Cloud Provider B and so on.
f. Cost Management considerations play an important role in the cloud migration. Discuss the investment from this perspective. It is important to include all the cost considerations that will be added to the list
g. What are the contributions to the cloud security with respect to the selected service and deployment model. Provide a summary on what different security controls/mechanisms/countermeasures will be applied to address the required level of security for the assets and data?
h. As an organisation experiencing the transition, identify the challenges you will facing as a result of this transition. Discuss on what measures you will identify and implement to overcome these challenges.
