Agile Business Analysis

Learning Outcome 1: Analyse organisational requirements as they apply to agile environments.

Task Summary
For this individual assessment, you need to consider that a Success Coach has asked you to think about what your career aspirations are. You have noticed in your desktop research that ‘Agile' crops up as a requirement in many of the adverts that you are interested in. You have been tasked with looking at different Agile roles to get an understanding of what your future career prospects may be focusing on the three most frequently advertised Agile roles: Agile Business Analyst, Product Owner and Scrum Master.

A replica of this table is to be used for your initial analysis, and will need to be attached in the appendices of this assessment to show your analysis skills in action:

Working through your study notes and course material, readings and viewings use the table to capture both the activities that each of these roles do and the artefacts or documents that they create, generate, or contribute to for each Agile ceremony. This table will now form the basis of your career planning report.

For each role - Scrum Master, Product Owner and Agile Business Analyst - please write a succinct paragraph:
1. A brief description of the role, what it does and what it contributes to the team's outputs.
2. What skills you believe are most important for the role.
3. What skills you already have for the role.
4. What skills you would still need to develop for the role.
5. What prior experience would make one best suited to the role.
6. What the next step up from this role would be as a natural career path progression.

Your word count is limited, and you are encouraged to use tables or diagrams to represent items 2, 3 and 4 for the sake of brevity.

In your final paragraph advise which of these roles you would be more likely to seek out and why. You need to back your answer with reasoning and ensure that it relates to the skill sets you have discussed in each paragraph.

Task Instructions Report Structure

The report is brief and therefore will not require an executive summary or abstract. There is NO REQUIREMENT for an INTRODUCTION or CONCLUSION - your word count is precious and needs to reflect your capability to represent your thinking analytically and economically.

Title page: should include subject ID, subject name, assignment title, student's name, student number and lecturer's name.

4. Part 4 - Your selected future role

Layout
The report should use font Arial or Calibri 11 point, should be line spaced at 1.5 for ease of reading and page numbers on the bottom of each page.

With the required diagrams due attention should be given to pagination to avoid loss of meaning and continuity by unnecessarily splitting information over two pages. Diagrams must carry the appropriate captioning.

It is essential that you use appropriate APA style for citing and referencing research.
