Introduction to Information Systems Assignment Task - Information Systems And Design
TASK DESCRIPTION - Assuming that the company in your previous business system investigation (Assignment1) has decided for your team to go ahead with the project.
Your team will work together to suggest further development of the business system investigated in Assignment 1. This will include the application of design concepts and the creation and evaluation of user interfaces.
OBJECTIVES
- Identify, analyse and propose IS solutions to IS problems.
- Describe different systems development methodologies.
- Work in teams.
- Analyse end user experience.
- Evaluate ethical and social responsibility issues in the IS context.
Format: This assignment consists of 2 parts: a report submission and a video or live presentation.
Topic - Sports club of Hyatt Regency, Sydney. Do Question 1, 3, 5, 7, 8.
Requirements - All team members must contribute to the preparation of both the presentation and the report writing. You are encouraged to use Canvas for collaboration. Marks will be allocated based on each team member's weekly contribution in the tutorial, group participation and online forum as well as the weekly exercises. It is important that your group discussion and individual contribution is posted online every week.
Your report should be written from the point of view of an IT consultant, and should be directed to the appropriate audience within the company. This assignment is a group project. No individual submissions will be accepted.
Please make sure that assignment requirements are met and tasks are completed according to the requirements given.
Project Report: You build up the project report week by week. The project report should include the following:
1. SYSTEM OVERVIEW (2 pages)
General information on the system and how it fits into the improved business process (as stated in the assignment 1).
What is the system about, what it can do to each user and how it works in general?
2. REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS (3-4 pages)
Briefly describe how do your team members collect the user requirements.
Mention at least 2 methods used in doing the requirements analysis - provide evidences of the collected user requirements, for example, if the survey is conducted, provided the survey responses from the respondents (you can place the evidences in the appendices).
Your findings as a result of the requirements analysis process.
List user requirements according to essential, desirable, luxury and briefly describe each, please ensure that user requirements come from the interpretation of the findings.
Note: You should provide the evidences of your user requirements collection. For example, the answers from the interview/survey or the notes from the observation. These evidences should be placed in an appendix section.
3. USE CASE MODELLING (4-5 pages)
A Use Case Diagram (minimum of four use cases).
Use Case Descriptions - one for each use case.
4. INTERFACE DESIGN (4-5 pages)
3 screen design - a main screen, an input screen and an output screen (Your screen designs is required to present using a desktop PC)

Provide a brief description on:
- The purpose of each screen (what is it for?)
- Who are the users (e.g. staff or customers or who else?)
- What software/tools you used to design? Why have you chosen this software?
- Consideration you have for the design of each screen (usability factors).
5. CONCLUSION (1 page)
Sum up the major findings of your research include the contributions to the chosen company.
6. RECOMMEDATION (1 page)
This is where you say how the problems (as stated in assignment 1) can be solved based on the results of your findings.
7. INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIONS (2 pages for each student)
What connection can you make with what you already knew or with the knowledge learnt from working with other subjects and from working with assignment 1?
What did you find that add value to your learning from working with this assignment?
What have you learnt through the process of producing the assignment?

8. REFERENCES
Provide a reference list. The reference list contains at least 3 text books, three websites and three journal articles. Use correct referencing method: Harvard UTS.
