An ancient underground aqueduct has been completely flooded and conveys water over adistance of 15.8 kilometers into the ruins of ancient city between two larg bodies of water that have difference in their water surfaces of 73 meters. the coress-section of the lower part of this conduit is semi-circular, and has radiusof x meters. the straight edge of this semi-circular area is horizantal. there is large amount of hardened sediment at the centreline is consistent along the length of the aqueduct at x/3 meters. the cross-section of the upper part of this conduit is formed from two arched walls has a radius of 2x. the roughness of the masonry walls and hardened sediment can be taken as k=0.005m. If x is 9109mm, determine the discharge through the aqueduct ignoring all minor losses. Clearly state any assumptions you make. provide a copy of the moody diagram for this question, clearly marked to indicate Re and relative roughness for f as used with the Darcy-weisbach equation to determine friction headloss.
