Embedding change is critical to organisational resilience in complex adaptive systems. In this assessment, you are asked to prepare a written Proposal for the introduction of the virtual hospital as part of the operations of your chosen hospital. To be prepared for the hospital's organisational leadership team, the Proposal should discuss how the proposed recommendations embed organisational resilience principles into the virtual hospital initiative. (Note that your chosen hospital must be in Australia and not one of the organisations mentioned on p. 19 of the 2024 KPMG Report.)

The Proposal must address the following:

Introduction: Provide context for the Proposal by describing the nature and scope of your chosen hospital and explain how the introduction of the virtual hospital initiative will align with that. Discuss the benefits of the virtual hospital, including the benefits to your chosen hospital. Outline the key arguments and the Proposal structure. (200 words)

Implementation Challenges and Interventions: To ensure the Proposal has an appreciation the nature of the change required, critically discuss two emergent post-implementation challenges associated with the introduction of the virtual hospital, and convincingly outline two interventions that could address those challenges. (This may include any of the challenges and interventions discussed in Assessment 2.) (200 words)

Organisational Resilience: Drawing on Organisational Resilience thinking, identify and critically discuss at least two recommendations that should be adopted by the chosen hospital for addressing the implementation challenges and interventions. These recommendations should identify key changes that will need to be made for implementing the virtual hospital. (600 words)

Change Management: Using Kotter's 8-step change management framework, discuss how those two recommendations could be implemented in the chosen hospital. The Proposal should consider how the complex characteristics of health organisations and systems (outlined in Module 1) could impact each of the eight change management phases. (1,200, words)

Conclusion: Re-state the position of your argument and summarise the discussion. Draw out at least three key learnings for the organisational leadership team at the hospital. (300 words)
