Assignment Brief:
You have recently been appointed as an Accounts Manager at Hardrick Ltd. The latter specialises in catering for big events such as birthday parties, weddings or corporate events.
The company has invested in an accounting software called SAGE Line 50 to help with their book keeping necessities. You have been asked to produce a report providing information about how the company can use SAGE LINE 50 to record transactions and generate reports for financial management and decision making purposes of the business. You need to split the report in three sections.
Required:
Section 1:
A discussion to demonstrate how functions within SAGE LINE 50 could be used for processing, controlling and communicating accounting information. You could address the following in this discussion:
1. Setting up a new company on SAGE Line 50;
2. Managing customer records and supplier records;
3. Managing aged debt to collect cash and aged creditor to ensure supplies is not affected from unpaid bills,
4. Managing cash and bank receipts.
5. Generating reports such as audit trail, trial balance, profit and loss and statement of financial position for financial management and decision making.
You can use image illustrations in this section to support your discussion as necessary. If using figures and images please ensure they contain appropriate headings/labels.
Section 2:
Explain the development of accounting software for numerical interpretations. Evaluate the use of SAGE software for processing financial transactions and producing financial statements for businesses with particular emphasis on SMEs.
Section 3:
Produce a set of guidance notes for new users of Sage Line 50, which will help them to reduce errors and maintain the integrity of the accounts.
