A thick cylindrical sleeve, when shrunk onto a hollow shaft of a different material had its internal diameter extended by 0,2mm. The shaft has an internal diameter of 100mm and the internal and external diameters of the sleeve are 200mm and 350mm respectively.
Assuming that the sleeve has the following constants: E=200GPa, poisson ratio = 0,28 and coefficient of friction = 0,3.
The shaft has the following constants: E=80GPa, poisson ratio = 0,33 and coefficient of friction = 0,3.
Determine:
a. The pressure at the common interface;
b. The hoop and radial stresses on all the surfaces and sketch the distribution diagram showing these values.
