A plate of mass M is suspended between two opposing jets, each of area A, velocity Vo and density d. The plate is suddenly given a velocity Vo parallel to one of the jets. Determine the subsequent motion of the plate (x(t)), and the maximum displacement of the plate (xmax). Neglect any mass of liquid adhering to the plate, and consider the flow at any instant as quasi-steady. Neglect friction and assume that the motion takes place only along the x direction.
