A horizontal circular cylinder of diameter D = 0.2m and length 2m is elastically mounted on two springs and towing tank, as illustrated in the figure below. The cylinder is neutrally bouyant in water and the water density is 1000kg/m . The motion of the cylinder is only allowed in the crss-flow y direction. it is assumed that the three-dimensional end effects can be ignored, estimate the stiffness of the two identical springs which support the cyclinder
