Theory of Planned Behavior
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) given by Icek Ajzen in 1988 and 1991 assists to realize how we can alter the behavior of people. The TPB is a conception which forecasts deliberate behavior, since behavior can be designed.
The three specification of the Theory of Planned Behavior as per TPB, human action is led by three forms of specification:
- Behavioral Beliefs - These are notions concerning the likely effects of the behavior.
- Normative Beliefs - These are notions concerning the normative outlooks of others.
- Control Beliefs - These are notions concerning the presence of elements which may impede or may facilitate the performance of the behavior.
Residual Effects of Past on afterward Behavior
In the recent past (2002), Ajzen looked into residual effects of past on more previous behavior. He came to the decision that this factor indeed exists, except for declaring to habituation, like many people are thinking. A follow-up of existing evidence proposes that the residual effect of past behavior is reduced, when measures of behavior and intention are congenial. And the impact disappears when intentions are well formed and strong, prospects are realistic and specific plans for intention execution have been developed.
Likewise in management, programs which concentrate only on explanation of the significance of something (knowledge transfer) will probably not succeed. Instead one should persuade people to alter their intention to alter, by committing a lot of attention to subjective norms, attitudes and comprehended behavior control.
