Concept of System and Surrounding
The object under observation is called as system and rest of universe as surroundings For example:
If we are observing the body 2 then system will be object 2 only, the rest of universe i.e., block one, the horizontal surface or earth will behave like surroundings.

On the diagram under consideration we will observe only the force exerted by the surrounding on the system.
Steps for F.B.D.
Step 1 : Identify the system or body and isolate it from other bodies clearly specify its boundary.
Step 2 : First design non contact external force in the diagram. Usually it is weight.
Step 3 : Draw contact forces which behaves at the boundary of the system or object. Contact forces are friction, normal reaction, tension and applied force.
In F.B.D. internal forces are not drawn, only outer forces are drawn.
