Traditional approach was challenged was that the treatment was built too closely around episodic events, like incorporation, promotion, consolidation, merger, reorganisation and so on. Financial management was confined to a description of these in frequent happenings in life of an enterprise. As a corollary, day-to-day financial problems of a normal company didn't receive much attention.
