Type  of  Measures  of Dispersion

 a. Absolute Measure: The measure of dispersion which  is expressed in  terms of the units of the  observations( e, g, Rupees , metre , Years etc,

a.Range

b.Quartile Deviation ( or semi inter quartile range)

c.Mean  deviation

d.Standard deviation

b. Relative Measure: A measure of  dispersion which is independent of unit  or may  involve  the point  about  which  the deviations are  taken is suggested. Such  measure of  dispersion is known  as relative measure  of dispersion  or coefficient  of dispersion. There is  one relative measure  corresponding to an  absolute  of dispersion.
