The Internet Layer

The  internet  layer is  responsible  for routing the data  packets  to the appropriate  destination. Internet protocol (IP) is responsible for ensuring data  integrity is not  a function of  IP. IP  interacts  with address resolution protocol (ARP) and reverse address resolution protocol(FRARP) for address resolution. ARP and RARP operate from a layer  called the link  layer. This layer is implemented as a combination of software and acts  as an interface between  the internet  layer and the network  interface layer.
