Actually we will be seeing these sort of divisions so frequently that we'd like a quicker and more efficient way of doing them. Luckily there is something out there called synthetic division which works wonderfully for these kinds of problems. To use synthetic division we have to be dividing a polynomial by a linear term in the form x - r .  If we aren't then it won't work.
