Interaction diagram-connect force in action or reaction pair, Physics

Assignment Help:

1. Two trucks are connected by a rope. The rope is attached to a winch on one of the trucks so that the trucks are being pulled together slowly as the winch pulls in the rope. For clarity, both trucks are moving. They are on a gravel surface so that rolling friction is not negligible.

(a) Draw an interaction diagram for this situation treating the two trucks and the rope as "the system" so that the ground/Earth are "the environment".

(b) Draw free body diagrams for each object in the system (the two trucks and the rope). Connect forces in action/reaction pairs with dotted lines. Verify (and note, so the marker sees you have verified) that the number of action/reaction pairs in the system agrees with the number shown in your interaction diagram.
