Explain the Identification of Fungi and Yeasts?
In this we learnt about different staining techniques used to visualize bacterial cell morphology. What about identification techniques of fungi and yeast? Are the processes/techniques similar to techniques used for bacteria? We will look at these aspects in this practical. Identifying features of some commonly isolated fungi have been enumerated. The purpose of this Practical is to acquaint you with the morphological characteristics of both the yeasts and moulds and help you visualize and identify the common unknown fungi.
Objectives
After going through this practical and undertaking the exercises given herewith, you will be able to:
