Explain reverse bias, Physics

Reverse Bias:

When P-types material of a semi conductor diode is linked a negative potential and the n-type material is linked at positive potential of a voltage source, the diode offers very high resistance and the current does not flow by the circuit such condition is said to be reverse biasing
