Categorization according to pipeline configuration

According to the configuration of a pipeline, the below categories are recognized under this classification:

  • Unifunction Pipelines: When a dedicated and fixed function is executed by a pipeline it is known as a Unifunction pipeline.
  • Multifunction Pipelines: When various functions at different times are executed by the pipeline it is called Multifunction pipeline. These are reconfigurable at many times according to operation being executed.
