Face cetered cubic structure

In FCC structure, the atoms are situated at each of the eight corners and at the centers of all cube faces of the unit cell. Every face centered atom touches its nearest neighbor corner atoms. The following diagrams shows the arrangement of lattice points for a FCC unit cell and the actual packing of atoms within the unit cell. This face-centered lattice is also known as cubic closed packed (CCP) structure.
