A bottle and marble

Pour some sand into a wide mouthed bottle. Place a piece of cardboard about 5 cm square over the mouth of the bottle. Set the marble on the cardboard and then tap the edge of the cardboard. If the experiment is successful, and it may needs practice, the cardboard will be set in motion and will go flying off while the inertia of the marble causes it to drop into the bottle
