Evaluate the area and perimeter of a square:

Example:

Calculate the area and perimeter of a square with a = 5´.  Be sure to include units in your answer.

Solution:        

A = a2                          P = 4a

A = (5)(5)                    P =4(5)

A = 25 square feet       P = 20 feet
