The Web Service Description Language (WSDL) is a W3C specification which defines the XML grammar for describing the Web Services.XML grammar describes details like:-

  • From where we can find the Web Service (its URI)?
  • What are the methods & properties that the service supports?
  • The Data type support.
  • The Supported protocols

In brief it is a bible of what the webservice can do. The Clients can consume this WSDL and build proxy objects which clients use to communicate with the Web Services.
