Itraconazole is FDA-approved for treatment of blastomycosis, histoplasmosis (non-meningeal) and aspergillosis in patients who are intolerant of or refractory to amphotericin B. It is also shown for empiric therapy of febrile neutropenic patients with suspected fungal infections.
