little more info, the path-goal theory says that leaders behave in four ways. The Directive leader pretty much does what the title says. They direct their employees by showing them what is expected of them, guiding them through it and giving them work. The Supportive leader is more of someone who wants to be a friend while also being your leader. They feel everyone should be treated equally and do what they can to be available to their employees. The Participative leader allows for the employee to be a part of the decision making process. They want them to feel like their participation is important. The Achievement-oriented leader helps to encourage individuals to achieve their goals and allowing for advancements. They want their employees to feel confident in their accomplishments.
