The chapter 3 is talking about “The Core of Ego” which was interesting for me and impressed.
What is really at the core of our egos and how the ego works? The egoism mind works purely with thoughts, memories and experience. The spiritual mind only knows the present moment to be true existence. If doesn’t recognize any other moment as being truth.
My favorite sentence is that “The ego loves to complain and feel resentful not only about other people but also about situations: make it into an enemy” I know that complaining is takes up thoughts of a ton of people in our society. It is the best way for people to get something off their chest. We all know the areas of our own life where we complain. A lot of people freak out over the smallest things. When I complain, including fault-finding, grumbling and making negative comments in speech or in thought. When I complain something, my feeling is more become negative. Negative thinking and complain makes negative person. All the negative comments are from people that are just jealous. I think that complain is a problem in our society. We always angry and complain in life because we think that whatever is happening in our experience should not be. We think that if a person or situation would just be the way we think it should be, we would be happy, and everything would be better.
Another favorite sentence is “Nonreaction is not weakness but strength. Another word for non reaction is forgiveness.”Some people are really angry, they will be complaining but some people are not. It is depend on people.
From my experience, when I take airplane, baby was crying behind me but mother didn’t control and didn’t care baby. I can understand that baby always crying but I don’t understand mother’s attitude because she never care another person. She is got no consideration for others and lacks consideration for others. I think that she is very self fish. However, I was not complaining because I don’t want to heart mind each other. If I complain, I would be trouble something and my feeling was going down. I think that non reaction is better than reaction.
We have to make a caring and humane society. If I care for other people, also others will be consideration for us. I think that forgives begins with a tolerance and consideration for others.
