Joe’s supermarket has decided to start carrying just one magazine. Management figures that if they are stocked out, there is no impact on profit apart from the profit loss on the particular magazine that they didn’t sell. The magazine costs the store $1, and sells for $4; however, the publisher gives a credit of $0.90 for every unsold magazine. What stockout probability should the supermarket use when computing its order quantity.
