Quantitative Research Methods Assignment -
The description of the research scenario and data are not-too-loosely based on Mueller, Melwani, Lowenstein and Deal, "Reframing the Decision-Makers' Dilemma: Towards a Social Context Model of Creative Idea Recognition", Academy of Management Journal, 2018, 61:1, pp. 94-110.

For each of these below, copy and paste the relevant output from SPSS in your submission (no need to worry about making pretty tables, etc.; SPSS output is just fine for our purposes). For each set of output be sure to include a narrative description that directly addresses what is being asked (for example, discuss means and percentages in each group for Q1 below). Any time a statistical test is performed, be sure to write it up with all relevant details as well as describe what is being done. For guidance, look at the short writeups in the "guided" portion of this assignment as well as to the sections for "APA Results" in the Green & Salkind book, for each different procedure.
1. Describe the complete sample as well as each experimental condition separately. Specifically, provide total counts of subjects, counts and percentages of men and women, and mean and standard deviation of age.
2. Was the randomization process successful in creating comparable groups? Compare the mean age and the proportion of men and women across both groups (in this case, you would want to see a non-significant result, indicating that the groups are not significantly different in terms of these two measures).
3. Aggregate the items in each scale into a single total and provide descriptive statistics (e.g., means and standard deviations) for each group separately. For only one aggregate variable (your choice), create boxplots and histograms (with normal overlays) for totals in each group and check whether there are any obvious outliers. Finally, run (and interpret) normality tests, as well as Q-Q plots (within each group separately) (this also for only one aggregate variable).
4. Assume the following hypotheses were proposed as part of this research. Test each of these separately and provide both SPSS output as well as a write-up of the results, which include the statistics and tests used to support or reject them:
a. H1: There is a difference in mean social approval between participants in the control and experimental groups.
b. H2: There is a difference in mean creativity between participants in the control and experimental groups.
c. H3: There is a difference in mean novelty between participants in the control and experimental groups.
d. H4: There is a difference in mean usefulness between participants in the control and experimental groups.
e. H5: There is a difference in the proportion of participants who stated that they would invest in the project between participants in the control and experimental groups.
