The purpose of job evaluation is to create internal equity among job. Internal equity means that the individual employee perceives that their position is treated fairly within a pay programme in relation to other jobs within the organisation.

The basic principle is this of creating internal equity is that jobs that require greater qualification, more responsibilities, and more complex duties should be paid more highly than jobs with lesser requirements. The basic procedure is to compare the jobs in relation to one another, in terms of required effort, responsibilities, and skill.

Job evaluation is always done with a purpose/aim in mind. Explain.
