Each question needs to be answered in detail. One of my answers is below and I only got half credit. I need help better explaining. Also the first two question must be explained in length and detail

1.) Briefly describe the purpose of an Independent Technical Assessment and an Independent Cost Estimate.

2.)What is the purpose of Urgency Analysis? What are the major steps in applying the technique?

3.)Briefly explain the differences between Network Analysis (excluding PERT) and PERT. Which method has the most extensive use?

My Answer:

Network Analysis is achieved by network based scheduling. Network analysis is a team effort .Network based schedules validate the projects internal functions and processes and generate graphics that depict the projects activities and their relationships. Project managers tend to have a huge area of responsibility because they or over projects comprised of several departments and personnel. The most important thing is to ensure there is a clearly identified path so the project will not be delayed. The paths are identified by diagrams. PDM is a computer based software that shows predecessor-successor relationships this is commonly used in network analysis. Networks are created off project activities, associations among other groups and parameters. If a network is established directing an analysis will not take as much time because a network does not need to be created.

PERT or Program Evaluation and Review Technique are used when there is not enough historical data on a project or those involved are not equipt to handle the project. When this happens a worse case scenario use conjured by using a mathematics. Pert has two levels Task level and Project level. The input for PERT may take a lot of time and effort because it requires data from all activities. However, PERT is user friendly and popular if used on software. Many project management software comes with PERT. Pert does create a critical path just any other network anaylsis but it also include normal distribution from the mathematical equations to provide a better metric of a project deadline and success.

Pert has more extensive use and could be attributed to it being around longer. software makers have put a lot of effort to ensure user are able to use us PERT. Also PERT is all about time on a project. Time is hard to create and predict. Despite the fact that Network Analysis is used to create clear paths and identify costs. PERT is more extensive.
