Organizations utilize continuous-improvement plans to identify operational problems and potential solutions to those problems. As the best solutions are implemented, their results are observed and the solutions are altered to better address the problem at hand. Consider an internal process at an organization with which they are familiar that could be improved. This might include a process that takes place at a restaurant, during the advising process at their college or university, or at some other organization. Discuss why the improvement should take place, who it will involve, and the amount of time it will take to make the change. Discuss how you would monitor the change over time to assure that it actually resulted in an operational improvement. To what extent should continuous-improvement plans be incorporated into organizational operations? In considering the proposed changes in this project, will the suggested changes be permanent or will they have to be closely monitored to prevent the “old way” from prevailing?
