1. We have knowingly or unknowingly gravitated into a world where we text and call on our cell phones instead of making time to spend with a lot of our friends and relatives. Technology is becoming the medium by which we interact, with face-to-face human contact being gradually and systematically moved aside by this technology. What is more, psychologically as a society we appear to be readily accepting the notion that contacting someone via text message somehow satisfies the check-in-the-box requirement that once used to be only satisfied with a visit, or an actual conversation where people were right there standing in front of each other. What is happening to us? Why are we going into that virtual world so willingly and without a fight?
2. the thing is that while it sounds great to say that cloning should be banned worldwide, most likely it will not be. Sadly in many of these situations, when American chooses to ban something, many countries around the world may see this as an opportunity for economic advantage. Moreover, while the total reproduction of a human being may be off the table for the majority of countries, the reproduction of organs and body parts may not be. Do you think that the United States will be able to become too puritanical about this while other countries capitalize on the new science and the patents that it will create? Or are the business pressures going to be too strong for America to resist some form of cloning technology short of the production of human beings?
