Since 1965, there have been many debates, discussions, and reports on rising cost of healthcare, particularly for elderly. This caused establishment of Medicare program with different sections like Medicare Part A for hospital care and Medicare Part B for physicians, outpatient care, and durable equipment. Medicare Part D has been in news in recent years as new prescription drug program for Medicare recipients. It is a complex program and has been recipient of some important criticism.

What is Medicare Part D? Determine at least two online sources of information describing major objectives of program and explaining issues challenging the implementation of program. This information must pertain to period before and just after implementation of program (January, 2006).

Medicare Part D has become one of established programs in field of managed care. Discover the online source of information estimating program as it exists today.
