A pump is to be used to draw seawater from the bay @ an elevation of 0 to a reservoir at a desalination plant that has a water surface elevation of 255 feet. A 12-inch diameter DIP pipe (CHW = 120) which is 625 feet long connects the two bodies of water. For this situation provide the equation of the system curve (IE. There is an intake, which is a protruding pipe in the bay (ke = .85); a check valve (kv = 1.7); three 45° bends (kb = .3); two 90° bends (kb = .7); and an open gate valve (kg = .25)
