The length of this assessment is 3,000 words equivalent. Written work - Student name and identification number must be clearly stated at the top of each page of the work. Where work is to be marked anonymously, only include the student number. A signed declaration that the work is your own (apart from otherwise referenced acknowledgements) must be included after the title page of your assignment. Each page must be numbered. Where appropriate, a contents page, a list of tables/figures and a list of abbreviations should precede your work.

All referencing must adhere to School/Institutional requirements. A word count must be stated at the end of your work. Your programme, year of study and the relevant module must be included aslooter" on each page. Appendices should be kept to the minimum and be of direct relevance to the content of your work. All tables and figures must be correctly numbered and labelled. Your assignment/coursework should be submitted in one A4 transparent pocket unless it is not appropriate to do so (in which case, specific instructions will be provided by your module leader). Other types of coursework/assignments - Where coursework involves oral presentations, discussions, poster presentations, etc., specific instructions will be provided by your module leader/team.

Note: Patches 1- 4 are what we term 'formative" assessment, which means that even though the completion of this work is a formal requirement of this module, this work does not contribute to your final grade at the end of the year. Your final grade is determined by the completion of Patch 5. This assessment is what we refer to as "summative". If you do not complete all aspects of this assessment, formative and summative, you will automatically be deemed not to have completed the work for the year, and therefore will fail.

Marking Scheme - Explanation of the impact of globalisation in ten-ns of Resources such as food, water, energy, land and minerals - 20 marks. Explanation of the concept of sustainable development and discuss the idea that overconsumption around the world is a serious threat to sustainability - 20 marks. Discussion of the Role for markets, governments, NGOs and consumers in relation to sustainable development - 15 marks. Explain the challenges facing sustainable development - 20 marks.

Reflective Summary. Your conclusion must convince the reader that they tie with the logical flow of your analysis. Analysis should include your learning outcome from the study undertaken and recommendations. Every recommendation you make should be based on and supported by the context of your analysis.
