Details of task:

This assignment presents an opportunity for you to engage in the current report into the review of hospital safety and quality assurance in Victoria. It requires the learning outcomes of health policy, power, QI/QA and change to be addressed. The review, conducted by Stephen Duckett, will allow you to engage with all of these concepts. Examine the report as an exemplar when discussing governance, and related quality topics in the unit. For Assignment 2, answer the following questions:

1) Given this review is going to affect all hospital and health services, what are the major deficiencies in health care that are being addressed by this review and which of the NSQHS standards do these relate to?

2) Taking into account recommendation 2.14.1 "low rates of agreement with the questions ‘My suggestions about patient safety would be acted upon if I expressed them to my manager' and ‘I am encouraged by my colleagues to report any patient safety concerns I may have' in the People Matters Survey be used as an indicator of a poor reporting culture in a public hospital"
