The Big Bear town council has asked that you determine whether the discharge of the town's wastewater into the Salmon River will reduce the DO below the state standard of 5.00 mg/L at Little Bear, 5.79 km downstream. They also want you to determine the minimum DO at any point downstream. Pertinent data are given in the table in Problem 7-33 in the book. Also, assume that the average cross-sectional area of the river is 1.78 m^2.
