Determine the specifications (unstretched length and springconstant k) for the elastic cord to be used at a bungee-jumpingfacility. Participants are to jump from a platform 150 ft above the ground. When they rebound, they must avoid an obstacle that extends15 ft below the point at which they jumped. In determining thespecifications for the cord, establish reasonable safety limits forthe minimum distances by which participants must avoid the groundand obstacle. Account for the fact that participants will havedifferent weights. If necessary, specify a maximum allowable weightfor participants. Write a brief report presenting your analyses andmaking a design recommendation for the specifications of the cord.
