In this assignment you will analyze the organizational behavior of your current or former employer. Describe how the following areas influence the organizational behavior in a negative or positive manner:

a. Type of culture (Pluralism, Dualism or Salad bowl)

b. Modes of communication in the organization (i.e., written or verbal)

c. Nature of authority (i.e., recognized social rank)

d. Motivational techniques (e.g. intrinsic or extrinsic used to influence productivity and performance)

e. Areas of EQ (emotional quotient) embraced by the organization

f. Virtual elements (i.e., teleworking and virtual offices)

Provide examples for each item listed above and discuss how each example applies to the organization identified. Your paper must be eight to ten pages in length and use a minimum of four scholarly sources, in addition to the textbook. Your paper must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center

Writing the Final Paper

The Final Paper:

1. Must be eight double-spaced pages in length (not including the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

2. Must include a title page with the following:
a. Title of paper
b. Student's name
c. Course name and number
d. Instructor's name
e. Date submitted

3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.

4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.

5. Must use headers

6. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.

7. Must document a minimum of four scholarly sources, in addition to the textbook, in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

8. Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Provide some additional guidance in respect to what I expect your paper to include and not include.

1. Your paper should meet the minimum page count as prescribed in the assignment specification. What this means is if the minimum page count is eight, seven full pages and a paragraph on a eighth will not be considered achievement of the minimum standard.

2. Your paper must incorporate four scholarly sources (must use the AU Library) plus the textbook for a total of five as a minimum. Sources from encyclopedias including Wikipedia, newspapers, Google, popular magazines, encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. are not acceptable. Trade journals, published research reports, and monographs (books from reliable publishers) are acceptable. As an aside, company websites, policy manuals, and company documents, and other company specific materials are acceptable for inclusion but are not scholarly and do not count toward the minimum scholarly source count. 3. Follow APA guidelines in the preparation of your manuscript. For more information on APA, refer to the AU Writing Center. I recommend you use APA "Level 1" headings for the body of your paper. It will make organizing and writing the content easier and more logical.

4. Remember, the paper is not about you personally despite the assignment description. Therefore, do not include personal pronouns (I, me, mine, you, etc.) in the body of your text. Instead, write the paper as a case study analysis recording observations while making recommendations for change, and do so in a third person formal writing style.

5. Note that I submit every paper to Turnitin. This system detects every source used in your paper and allows faculty to determine quickly if students have failed to cite those sources. I recommend very careful source documentation.

6. If you have questions, please ask. You are far better off asking questions in advance than asking forgiveness later.
