History
•The University of Chichester can trace its origins back to the year 1839, marking it as one of the historic institutions of the higher education in the country.
•In the year 1873 Bishop Otter College in Chichester became a training college for women as a result of a campaign to support the acceptance of women as teachers; The Bognor Regis College of Education was set up in the year 1946 as an emergency training college for men and women to meet the shortage of the teachers after war.
Location and transport
•The split over two campuses, students experience life in Chichester's lively, old market town and relax at seaside resort of the Bognor Regis.
•Transport to Bognor Regis and Chichester both is good by rail and road. There is a mainline train station in the centre of each town, as well as bus stations, both within easy walking distance of each campus. There is also a University subsidised bus service which operates between both the Chichester and Bognor Regis campuses.

Student facilities, including library and computing
•The library collection contains more than 260,000 volumes in total, with 1,270 periodicals including many specialist collections; the growing online library contains more than 30,000 e-books.
•Around even hundred print journals and electronic access to over 4,500 journals online. Library and IT services housed in modern learning resources centres on each campus with a brand new environmentally friendly building at the Bognor campus. Wifi and full internet access across both campuses with more than 230 workstations.
Sport
•As well as the sports-related courses, the University has excellent sport facilities on campus, including gymnasium, astroturf, rock climbing wall and grass pitches for both rugby and football. There are also some of the best water sport locations in the country.
•There are more than 25 teams participating in the BUCS (British University & College Sport) fixtures around country on Wednesdays, so if you are interested in either competitive or recreational sport Chichester provides something for everyone.
