History
•The University of Luton merged with the De Montfort University's Bedford campus on August 1 2006 and became University of Bedfordshire.
•The Bedford campus has a old history of the excellence dating back to the year 1882, when it was Bedford Training College for the Teachers.
Location and transport
•The university's Luton campus is located just 30 minutes north of London by the train. It is in the center of the town centre and near the M1, junctions 10 and 11.
•London Luton International Airport is around 5 km from main campus and is now one of UK's largest airports.
•The Bedford campus is just forty minutes when we go by the train from London and has easy approch to Cambridge and Oxford.
Entry standards
•It is dependent on the course. The teaching courses, including physical education, are quite competitive.
•Standard enterance for undergraduate degrees needs 200 or more than that UCAS tariff points which should include either two A level passes or aapproved equivalent.
Student mix
•The university welcomes people from all the stages of life within the lively and multicultural society.
•48 per cent of students are mature.
•70 per cent of students are from the UK.
Course flexibility
•Option to study on the full time or part time basis, with the longdistance learning also available.

Research standards
•The RAE rated research as internationally excellent in the region of Information technology and Computer Science Business and Management Studies
•Nine specialist research institutes – Applicable Computing (IRAC), Research in Applied Natural Sciences (LIRANS), Business and Management Research Institute (BMRI) which includes research on English language learning and assessment, Research Institute for Media, Art and Design (RIMAD), Institute for Research in Education (IRED), and Institute for Tourism Research (INTOUR).

Students' union
•Based at the Luton campus, with the facilities in Bedford.
•A bet way to meet new people. The union team is on hand to offer assistance and advice.
•The union is home to a café, bar, and social space.
Sport
•The £8-million Physical Education and Sport Science Centre at Bedford, contains state-of-the art sport science labs, two gyms and two dance studios, and is set to be used by the 2012 Olympic athletes.
•The Alexander Sports Centre has extensive playing fields, an indoor multi-purpose sports hall with badminton courts, tennis courts and a climbing wall.
•The Vauxhall Recreation Club is home to the Luton campus' sports facilities. It includes a tennis and squash courts, fitness studio, and five a side football pitches.
